Yes! Your entries are private by default. Only you can see them unless you choose to share with family or make them public. You control the visibility of every entry individually.
Can I export my data?
Yes, you can export all your data including entries, photos, and notes. Go to Settings → Privacy → Export My Data to download a copy of everything.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account at any time. Go to Settings → Privacy → Delete All My Data. Type "DELETE" to confirm. This will permanently and immediately remove all your data, including entries, photos, messages, and your account.
Is the AI Buddy optional?
Yes, AI features are completely optional. You can use Eatnote as a simple food journal without ever using AI Buddy. The AI features can be disabled in Settings.
Is my data used to train AI?
No. Your data is never used to train AI models. When you use AI Buddy, your conversations are processed to provide responses, but this data is not used for training purposes.
How does Family Sharing work?
Create a family group and invite members via their Eatnote username. When you share an entry with "Family" visibility, all members of your family groups can see it. Each person controls their own entries' visibility.
What are the family sharing limits?
You can create multiple family groups and be a member of multiple groups. Each group can have unlimited members. There's no limit to how many entries you can share with family.
Does Eatnote track my location?
Location is optional for each entry. You can choose to add location from your photos (EXIF data) or select on a map. You can also hide location entirely. Location permission can be denied at the system level.
Is Eatnote free?
Eatnote is free to download and use. All core features including food logging, family sharing, and basic AI features are free. Premium features may be added in the future.
What platforms is Eatnote available on?
Eatnote is currently available for iOS (iPhone and iPad). An Android version is planned for the future. Your data syncs across all your iOS devices automatically.
